1. Subject Matter of this Privacy Policy

The protection of your personal data (hereinafter referred to as “data”) is very important to us. In the following, we would therefore like to inform you in detail about which data we collect and how we process or use it in the following, as well as which accompanying protective measures we have also taken from a technical and organizational point of view.

3. Collection and use of your Data

We will only collect, process and use all personal data that we collect from you for the stated purpose. We note that this only happens within the framework of the applicable legal provisions or otherwise only with your consent. According to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to free information about your stored data and, if necessary, the right to correct, block or delete this data at any time. 

In accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, you can object to the processing of your data in the cases mentioned there. Please contact us at datenschutz(at)hydromapper.de or send us your request by post.

The scope and type of collection and use of your data differs depending on whether you only visit our website to retrieve information or whether you use the services we offer:

1. a) Internet use

For the purely informational use of our website, it is generally not necessary for you to provide personal data.

Rather, in this case we only collect and use your data that your internet browser automatically transmits to us, such as:

• Date and time of access to one of our internet pages
  • Your browser type
  • The browser settings
  • The operating system used
  • The page you last visited
  • The amount of data transferred and the access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
  • Your IP address.

We collect and use this data exclusively in non-personal form during an informative visit. This is done in order to enable the Internet pages you have accessed to be used at all, for statistical purposes and to improve our website. We only store the IP address for the duration of your visit; a personal evaluation does not take place. This data will not be merged with other data sources; the data will also be deleted after statistical analysis. According to the decision of the European Court of Justice of 19 October 2016 (Ref. no.: C 582/14), this is also permissible in view of the Telemedia Act.

1. b) Use of offers or use of data to perform tasks

If you want to use the services we offer, you may need to provide additional data. These are the data that are required for the respective processing. If necessary, you can provide further information voluntarily; they are marked as optional by us.

Your data is collected or used for the purpose of providing the service you require.

For the aforementioned purpose, your data will be passed on to service providers who support us, which we have of course carefully selected and obliged to comply with data protection law. These can in particular be technical service providers or shipping service providers.

Your data will only be passed on to other third parties if this is permitted by law or if we have received your explicit consent.

 

4. Consent under Data Protection Law

In addition to the processing of the services you require, we would like to offer a website tailored to your interests - of course only if you explicitly consent to this in a separate place.

For this, it is technically necessary for us to summarize your accumulated and specified data in usage profiles and evaluate them for the aforementioned purposes.

This is only done internally and only for the aforementioned purposes. We may also need your consent for the publication of image material that is subject to your copyright or on which you are depicted.

You can give your consent separately. You can then revoke it at any time with effect for the future.

The consent with regard to cookies or advertising trackers is based on Section 6 of this policy below.

 

5. Newsletter

 

In order to be able to register for our e-mail newsletter service, in addition to your data protection consent, we need at least your e-mail address to which the newsletter is to be sent.

Any further information is voluntary and is used in order to address you personally and to be able to personalize the content of the newsletter as well as to clarify questions about the e-mail address.

We usually use the so-called double opt-in procedure for sending the newsletter, i.e., we will only send you the newsletter if you have previously confirmed your registration via a link contained in a confirmation e-mail sent to you for this purpose.

We want to ensure that only you, as the owner of the specified email address, can register for the newsletter.

Your confirmation in this regard must be made promptly after receipt of the confirmation email, otherwise your newsletter registration will be automatically deleted from our database.

You can unsubscribe at any time from a newsletter that you have subscribed to from us. You can either send us an informal email or cancel using the link at the end of the newsletter.

 

6. Use of Cookies

 

We use the technology of cookies for our website.

Cookies are small text files which our web server sends to your browser during your visit to our web pages and stores on your computer for later retrieval.

We also use so-called web beacons (invisible graphics). These web beacons can be used to evaluate information such as the visit to our website.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons about the use of this website (including the IP address of the user) and the delivery of advertising can also be transmitted to and stored by Google LLC servers in the European Union and the USA. (see No. 8).

The data passed on cannot be merged with other data saved by you.

You can determine whether cookies can be set and retrieved using the settings in your browser.

For example, you can completely deactivate the storage of cookies in your browser, limit it to certain websites or configure your browser so that it automatically notifies you as soon as a cookie is to be set and asks you for feedback.

For technical reasons, however, it is necessary for the full functionality of our website to allow the session cookies mentioned.

From the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation on 25 May 2018, we will obtain your explicit consent for the use of cookies before using them.

 

7. Right of Revocation and Objection

We would like to point out that you can revoke any data protection consent you may have given us at any time with effect for the future.

Insofar as there are legal requirements for the collection of data, there is no right of withdrawal.

 

8. Use of statistical tools such as Google Analytics

It is important to us to design our website as optimally as possible and thus to make it attractive for our visitors. To do this, we need to know which parts of it will appeal to our visitors and how.

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google LLC (“Google”).

Google Analytics also uses cookies, i.e., text files, which are stored on your computer and which allow an analysis of your use of this webpage.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your ip address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

If ip anonymization is enabled on this web site, your ip address however is shortened first by google within member states of the European union or in other states party to the agreement beyond the European Economic Area.

The full IP address will only be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there in exceptional cases. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us as the website operator with other services relating to website activity and Internet usage.

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics.

You may also prevent the storage of these cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser software; however, we would like to point out that you may not be able to make full use of all the functions on this website in this case.

9. Data security

We also use technical and organizational security measures to protect any personal data that arises or that has been collected, in particular against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or against attacks by unauthorized persons.

Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

We provide you with online forms with which you can send us personal data. These forms are protected from being viewed by third parties through the use of TLS encryption.

The data that you enter or transmit to us as a file can be stored by us and processed by agreement. If the use and processing requires the consent of the user or a third party, the consent can be revoked at any time without giving reasons. In this case, however, our performance of the contract may be impaired.

Depending on the service, you may be asked to provide various entries to identify or prevent misuse:

1. a) The input of a user-defined identifier or other suitable authentication can be required for identification when the data is delivered. The data is protected against third-party knowledge via SFTP or HTTPS, provided that the user uses the data transmission methods recommended by us.
2. b)To prevent use by machines, so-called CAPTCHAS can be used, which contain images or tasks that cannot be processed by computer scripts.

 

10. Deletion periods

We only store personal data until the purpose of the data storage no longer applies, as long as there are no statutory retention periods or limitation periods for data that may serve legal prosecution oppose the deletion (in this case, the processing of the data is restricted according to Art. 18 GDPR).
